Yo EMS!!! It's Ben from England?? Fuckin quality first post on Disembodied, I managed to find a copy of that EP!!!!
So what were Vigil and Four Walls Falling like??? Some crazy Japanese dudes told me Vigil were very good but never said what sort of style they played and if they had any records to track down, same goes for 4 walls falling???
Ben, what's up homey! Glad you found this! Well, Vigil was a few of the guys from a late 80s early 90s straight edge band Conviction (who have a discography on Thorp Records. Here's a Conviction Mp3 "Between The Lines". I believe Conviction heavily influenced the music of the early Syracuse bands like ExC, Another Victim etc. Vigil started after the demise of Conviction and played a handful of shows. I think the only song they released was on the "Stones to Mark the Fire" Compilation. Other than that no other finished recordings surfaced to my knowledge. Members later went on to be in Turmoil & The Promise and the singer started a huge Porn Company. 4 Walls Falling were a great political / envronmental band from the DC / VA area and had a few releases out. Their demo, 7", and first CD "Culture Shock" were along the lines of old school hardcore, just kind of fast and sloppy but really catchy and memorable. Shit still gets stuck in my head. Their later stuff really branched out into more progressive hardcore with a less old school and a bit more of a metal tinge to it. Sort of in the vein of the first Into Another but a little more straight up. I am actually planning on posting tracks from 3 of their releases at some point in here because I feel like all of their stuff was amazing. "Culture Shock" was available on Jade Tree Records and here's a MP3 off of that called "Price of Silence". So stay tuned for features on them.
brother's keeper 95-03. played with stretch arm strong for summer 04 - spring 05. did europe with bk twice and one with SAS. i also did a band called Empty Promises with some friends and filled in for friends bands when needed like Santa Sangre, Problem Solver Revolver, Seven Stitches, & Coming of the New Messiah. But that's about it as far as anything worth mentioning. I am currently in a new band which have 3 songs down and hopefully a 4 song demo by the end of Jan.
EMS! Anderson brought your MP3 manifesto to my attention. I love it. Its like King's Journal all over again! Believe it or not, I was at this show too! Weirrrrrrd. - Big D
How can no one mention how aswesome and ahead of the time Die 116 was? The vocals always kind of sucked but the music was way above par and way ahead of the time. Anyone agree with me or am I out numbered? Dyna Cool is still one of my all time fav's.
wow...i was at that show too. great time indeed! Die 116 was incredible and i kinda dug Metroschifter too. and to the poster above, agreed with Die 116. they were one of my favorite bands way back when. anything Gavin VanVlack related is pretty much incredible imo.
